How to Beat Procrastination

Want to Know How to Beat Procrastination?

If you think about it, procrastination itself is a skill - a way of looking at things so that you put off doing them. So how can this help you to beat procrastination?

Tips on how to beat procrastination by Peter Murphy

1. Notice how you put off doing things

Pick one task you have not done and need to complete. Next, close your eyes and notice what you see, hear and feel when you picture doing it.

You´ll find that the images are dull, small and far away. Very often the sounds are dull and there is a deadness associated to the thoughts.

That is why you are procrastinating - those thoughts cannot get you motivated.

2. Change those images that make you procrastinate

Take those dull lifeless images and inject them with rich, bright color. And then pump up the volume and hear people commenting on your good work. Pretend you feel excited with a sense of achievement - be like an actor and make up the feelings.

3. Imagine the worst case scenario if you don´t get this task done. Make it like a Stepehen King movie until you feel motivated to put off having those terrible events happen!

Play with these ideas and you will know how to beat procrastination plus you will feel more motivated.

Do it a few times to get the hang of it.
